The 2nd season of my golf league begins this week with the Buick Open and ends with the Tour Championship.
The basic premise to pick a team of 9 PGA and 3 Champions Tour players that will win the most money from week to week and manage them within a 10 million dollar cap. You also have a 12 player bench to switch guys in and out from week to week. I also have 6 "buys" to use to buy new players throughout the season.
The guy that won the 1st season league overall had like 33 million. I noticed most good teams ddn't put a lot of money into the Champions Tour guys, so that's what I'm gonna follow this time around.
Here's the team that I selected so far with guys who I think will do well the 2nd half of the season. Their cap number is listed too.
Davis Love 3 - 1,645,000
Vijay Singh - 1,544,000
David Toms - 1,509,000
Mike Weir - 1,412,000
Ernie Els - 1,292,000
Justin Leonard - 1,175,000
Chris DiMarco - 1,146,000
Jim Furyk - 1,106,000
Jerry Kelly - 936,000
Kenny Perry - 807,000
Nick Price - 764,000
Scott Verplank - 753,000
Chad Campbell - 660,000
Robert Gamez - 551,000
Briny Baird - 512,000
Stewart Cink - 501,000
Darren Clarke - 465,000
Woody Austin - 367,000
Ben Crane - 287,000
Hal Sutton - 250,000
Champions Tour
Jay Siegel - 384,000
Dave Barr - 429,000
James Mason - 173,000
Vicente Fernandez - 419,000
My starting lineup for week will be: Verplank, Cink, Els, Furyk, Clarke, Austin, Toms, Kelly, Singh, Siegel, Barr, Mason
Are there any guys you think I missed that will have a big 2nd half? Any guys you think I picked who will have a bad 2nd half?
Here's a link where you can look up player values: http://tourtrade2.cdmsports.com/research/t2_Pros_2003.html?
Thanks for any advice
